Start Your Day Inspired

When you wake up, first thing in the morning, meditate and say your affirmations. Do this before the usual commuter train of inner speech arrives at the station with all those gossipy negative drama queens on board! This is kind of a lighthearted way of looking at the situation – that is, the persistent negativity going on in most people’s self-talk. But don’t be fooled by the lightheartedness of this analogy. Your speech - your word – has manifesting power.

Start the day off right with inspiration!

Starting off the day with meditation and affirmations sets the tone for the day in a most amazing way, and it has the added benefit of continually reprogramming your inner speech (your word) to become more positive in general. No matter what lies ahead, you can deliberately create a good mood. Your good energy will attract more good things into your life.

Inspiration literally means, the “spirit within.” Inspiration that you find outside yourself (inspirational quotes, for example) speaks to the real you; it is a reflection of your TRUE inner voice, not the voice of those negative gossipy drama queens (the negative self-talk) in your head. And you can allow your “spirit within” to be heard over the cacophony of the drama queens with consistently positive thinking and speech. The more you practice positive thinking, the faster you will drown out the negativity for good.

Positive Thinking

Positive thinking is a cornerstone of the Silva Method. Reprogramming your inner speech to be positive will cause you to take actions that have positive results. That’s how real, positive change happens.

When you meditate first thing in the morning, your mind is still relaxed, quiet and clear (the commuter train hasn’t arrived yet). This is an ideal time to re-enter the alpha brainwave state to do some powerful self-reprogramming by saying affirmations and visualizing what you desire. This is your way of setting the channel for the day.

Meditation – basically, being in the alpha brainwave state – teaches mental mastery. You develop the ability to focus and hold that focus, and the ability to choose your thoughts and emotions. This mental mastery is what ultimately shapes your reality. From thoughts come actions; and from actions, results. If you think negatively, you will act negatively. Even if you believe you’re doing your best and working hard, you’ll self-sabotage those efforts with unconscious negative behavior. And then, your results can only be negative.

Affirmations are one way to change negative thought patterns to positive thought patterns and imprint positivity into your mind. What a great way to start – and end – your day!

Think Your Way to Success

Henry Ford once said, “whether you think you can or think you can’t, either way, you’re right.”

Always keep this in mind: your beliefs actually cause you to take actions to make sure that your physical reality matches the belief. It’s NOT the other way around!

The power of your word is immense. What you say, both to yourself and to others, reflects what you believe. And it has a tendency to manifest in the physical world. If you say things like, “I’m sick and tired of worrying about money” (classic, right?) – what do you think your health, energy level and stress level will be like? What about your financial status? It bears thinking about, doesn’t it?

Become aware of how you talk (to self and others) about yourself, about your job, other people, your health, etc. A great way to see if your speech is negative or positive about something is to look at the physical reality of it. Are your relationships happy and healthy? How about your financial status? Health? Satisfaction with life?

You may be very surprised at the quality of your word. But if your word tends to be negative, you can reprogram it with daily affirmations, said in the alpha brainwave state.

In order for anything in your life to improve, you must improve your word; and through the consistency and frequency of your word, your beliefs. Start with daily affirmations. Scientists have discovered that it takes 1-2 months of daily practice for an idea to imprint on your mind. Since it’s so easy to forget to say affirmations once you get caught up in the day’s activities, doing them first thing in the morning is an easy way to incorporate the power of the word into your routine.

Open up a world of possibilities with positive thinkingOver time, your belief system will change to reflect your true nature which is limitless and infinitely abundant… and you’ll notice this shift, both in your speech and your actions. You’ll notice that the “commuter train” of thoughts is now full of healthy, happy, productive, fulfilled voices. (The negative, gossipy drama queens have evidently lost their jobs…)

The Silva Method’s classic affirmation, “Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better” is a great way to start and end each day. You can even use it to calm yourself in a stressful situation. When you repeat this affirmation – with feeling – while you’re in the alpha state, it quickly becomes part of your operating system.

Make daily inspiration an integral part of your daily routine. Start your day off with a big does of positive energy and let it carry you through the day… and end the day with more positive energy.
