To this day I believe that this was his own special way of relaxing.  </p>
<p>Ever since the time I was a little girl the Silva Method has been a huge part of my life. I can&#8217;t even begin to tell you how blessed I feel to get the chance to engage and connect with the Silva Community. </p>

<p>The Centering Meditation Exercise is the best tool that you can learn from Silva Method that will help you to develop the skill of meditation combined with consistency in daily practice.</p>
<p>We recommend that you go to your center at least once a day, for 15 minutes. What can you do during that 15 minutes?</p>
<p>You can take an inventory: Review what you did yesterday, that you want to correct today. Where are you on your progress, on whatever you are trying to accomplish? How far have you gotten towards reaching your goals at this time?</p>
<p>You are talking to yourself, mentally, and picturing what happened yesterday. Everything goes through pictures – visualization and imagination. Words don’t mean very much. Words are to convince you to be able to have a better, stronger image, stronger pictures. Mentally, we convey information by way of picture transmission. Thought transference is what it is called.</p>
<p>Analyze everything that happened yesterday, and the corrections you want to make. Analyze the mistakes that you made, and what you want for the future.</p>
<h2><strong>Picture a perfect future</strong></h2>
<p><img class="alignright" style="margin: 5px;" src="http://s17.mindvalley.us/silvalifesystem/media/images/centering_mind.jpg" alt="creative mind" width="306" height="203" /> Then you project into the future:</p>
<p>What am I doing tomorrow?</p>
<p>What am I supposed to do tomorrow?</p>
<p>What do I have to do tomorrow?</p>
<p>What do I need to do tomorrow?</p>
<p>Always keep your ultimate goals in sight, but break it down into smaller parts, smaller segments.</p>
<p>For instance, break it down into five segments. Work on Segment Number 1 first. When you accomplish this, then go into Segment Number 2, towards your goal.</p>
<p>Here’s what is important:</p>
<ul>
<li>You can also analyze how you are doing in life: in health, in family relations, and in business. Always keep in mind those three major areas.</li>
<li>First of all health, because if you’re not healthy, you’re not going to do anything else. Health comes first.</li>
<li>Better relations, to be the happiest time in your life, come second.</li>
<li>And then business, to support the others. Business is to provide for the material things that you need in order to accomplish your mission. We all have needs for money. Money is the fuel that keeps the machinery going.</li>
</ul>
<p>If you want to do great things, you must have a lot of money to do it with. If you have little things to do in life, you don’t need much money to do whatever that is. So it depends on your needs, on what plans you have for the future. That determines that you are going to need to accomplish your goals.</p>
<h2><strong>Humans have a special obligation</strong></h2>
<p>Now your goals should be – not just benefits for you and yours – animals do that.  We want to also help other human beings. We don’t mean just me and my family, we mean humanity in general. All human beings.</p>
<p>You see, animals take care of themselves and their offspring, but animals don’t help other animals of the same species. That’s animal reaction.</p>
<p>This is the way that humans are acting right now. They don’t care about anybody else. But we should care about other human beings also. We cannot survive by ourselves.</p>
<p>We need shops to manufacture shoes for us because we don’t manufacture shoes, clothing because we don’t manufacture clothing, someone to change the oil in my auto. I pay them for the services. We need each other. It is not just about me getting whatever I want, and then forget about everybody else.</p>
<p>All of our plans should be considered as we, or us; meaning: Humanity is not just me and my immediate family. Animals do that automatically; they don’t even have to have intelligence to supply their needs and the needs of their immediate family.</p>
<p>We want to go beyond that. Not just what animals are capable of doing; we want to be able to do what humans are capable of doing with the intelligence that we have, way beyond what animals are capable of doing. Our obligation is to continue improving living conditions on planet earth. Period. That comes first. Everything else is secondary.</p>
<p>Now that you understand your mission, you are on the right track. Now you can ask for help and get it, for that only: To improve conditions on planet earth. Not for anything else.</p>
<h2><strong>A superior human being</strong></h2>
<h2><img class="alignleft" style="margin-top: 5px; margin-bottom: 5px; margin-left: 10px; margin-right: 10px;" src="http://s59.mindvalley.us/silvalifesystem/media/images/centering_meditation.jpg" alt="centering meditation" width="224" height="342" /></h2>
<p>They are going to help you only when your intentions are to improve living conditions. Then ask for help, and you are going to get it immediately. Once you understand this, then you are on the right track. It is about what your intentions are:</p>
<p>You are walking down the street tomorrow and see a board with a nail sticking out. Ninety-nine percent of the people walking by just kick it and say, “Somebody’s going to get hurt with that. Let them take care of it, what the heck do I care about it.”</p>
<p>Yes, you should care. You should pick it up, get the nail out of the way before somebody gets hurt. Once you are aware of this, you should pick it up and put it aside before somebody gets hurt. This is how we are supposed to be functioning on this planet, and we’re not. We don’t care for one another.</p>
<p>This “love one another” means “help one another.” That’s what it meant. You help me and I’ll help you. Everybody helps each other, that would be great. We have a saying: At alpha we should pray for one another. At beta we prey on one another. We want to gain helping others gain, not gain at somebody else’s loss.</p>
<p>When you understand this, and function in this manner, life gets easier. You are a different person. You don’t know why, but things start coming your way. Actually, you attract them from your center, from alpha.</p>
<p>Or you move in the direction you should go, to be luckier, they say. You are luckier, happier, more satisfied with life, and so on. It is a different way to be, a different world for you now, because you function from your center, using both brain hemispheres.  You are a different person.</p>

<p>Back in 1972, a staff writer by the name of David R. Boldt at <strong>The Washington Post </strong>attended<strong> a Silva Mind Control seminar in 1972.</strong></p>
<p>And I&#8217;m very happy to say that I found the article!</p>
<p>The Silva Mind Control was the earlier version of the Silva Intuition System, that also teaches you<strong> how to develop your <a target="_blank" href="http://www.silvaintuitionsystem.com/">intuition</a> or clairvoyance skills.</strong> Those days, they were more familiarly known as <strong>Extra Sensory Perception (ESP) and psychic abilities.</strong></p>
<p>In this report, David R. Boldt recalled almost every detail of his four-night, five day course he attended and how it has helped him as well as other Silva students who attended the seminar.</p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;">Understanding Meditation</h2>

<p>More and more people are taking up meditation and in America alone, 10 million people are now meditating daily. I won&#8217;t be surprised if this number grows everyday.</p>
<p>We know for a fact that meditation is good for both your body and your mind. Even the doctors are recommending it! I&#8217;ve compiled a few news headlines that talks about this. It&#8217;s from 2003&#8230; but they&#8217;re still very good reads! <img src='http://www.silvalifesystem.com/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p><strong>From the Washington Times – Aug 14, 2003</strong></p>
<p><em>A new study shows [that] people who underwent meditation training produced more antibodies to a flu vaccine than people who did not meditate. Those who took part in the meditation study also showed signs of increased activity in areas of the brain related to positive emotion, as compared to people who did not meditate.</em></p>

<p><em>People who meditate these days come from all walks of life and aren’t necessarily weird New Agers or pretentious actors. Students, lawyers, West Point cadets, athletes, prisoners, and government officials all meditate. It’s supposed to help depression, control pain, increase longevity, slow down cancers, invigorate the immune system, and significantly reduce blood pressure. Time magazine recently reported that “meditation can sometimes be used to replace Viagra.”</em></p>
<p><strong>Time Magazine – Aug 4, 2003</strong></p>
<p><em>Not only do studies show that meditation is boosting their immune system, but brain scans suggest that it may be rewiring their brains to reduce stress. It’s recommended by more and more physicians as a way to prevent, slow or at least control the pain of chronic diseases like heart conditions, <span>AIDS</span>, cancer and infertility.</em></p>
<p>As you can see, meditation provides many benefits even when done by a beginner.</p>
<p>Now to help deepen your understanding, I will explain the two different types of meditation and their functionality.</p>
<h3>The Two Types of Meditation: Passive and Active</h3>
<p>When we meditate, several important things happen physically and mentally. First, we are “<em>focusing internally</em>” and letting go of the outside world (similar to going to sleep, but without losing consciousness).</p>
<p>This allows our brains to shift into more stable, stronger brain frequencies (called alpha and theta by scientists) normally reached during sleep.</p>
<p>When we can reduce our brain frequencies to these levels while staying awake we are able to bring the unconscious mind to the conscious level. This allows us to control and harness the power of the unconscious mind.</p>
<p>There are two types of meditation.</p>
<p><span id="more-124"></span></p>
<h4>Passive Meditation</h4>
<p>All meditation systems, such as Yoga, Zen, Transcendental Meditation ™, Silva Life System and others have similar benefits.</p>
<p>By “passively” letting go and going within, we “deactivate” our survival mechanisms and allow our body’s natural health and rejuvenation abilities to be activated.</p>
<p>Each method has its own way of reaching the inner state of mind, and each has its own goals.</p>
<h4>Active Meditation</h4>
<p>Jose Silva’s techniques allow you to use the relaxed, healthy state of mind that occurs during meditation to solve your day-to-day problems.</p>
<p>Silva found that by “actively” utilizing brain languages (kinesthetic, visual, and auditory thought processes), we can use this higher energy state to improve memory and learning skills, change unwanted habits, enhance health, and healing.</p>
<p>He also developed techniques to achieve what many people call “tapping the super-conscious” to solve problems, reach goals, come up with new ideas and solutions to problems. Some students use the Silva Life System to enhance their spiritual growth.</p>
<p>Using such techniques within a meditative state is called “active” meditation.</p>
<h3>But what exactly happens when you meditate?</h3>
<p>Your brain functions on a small amount of electricity, much like a computer. This electrical current vibrates and pulses at various speeds. When you are wide awake, with your eyes focused, your brain vibrates 20 times per second – what scientists call 20 cycles per second or the Beta frequency.</p>
<p><em>You are probably at this beta level of mind right now as you read this.</em></p>
<p>When you go to sleep, your brain frequency slows down, all the way to about half cycle per second in the deepest levels of natural sleep. This is known as the Delta level.</p>
<p>In between Beta, the waking state, and Delta, the deep sleep state, there are two other levels of mental activity.</p>
<p>When you are in a light level of sleep or in meditation <em>you are in the Alpha range, which is 7 to 14 cycles per second</em>. This is the center range and this is what we mean by saying “going to your center”. Going to the alpha level or centering is essentially the same thing as meditating. When someone meditates, scientifically, they are simply reducing their brain wave frequency to Alpha. The Alpha level is the level we use to activate our minds. Theta is a level of deeper relaxation or sleep, when your brain waves are at 4 to 7 cycles per second. The table below summarizes the 4 states of brain frequency.</p>

<p>There are many benefits of “going to the Alpha level” or meditating. Jose Silva found that people who can remain in the<em> </em>Alpha level while analyzing information have access to more information than those who remain in Beta to do their thinking. <strong>Feelings of intuition, creative ideas, inspirational thoughts and ideas come to people while at this Alpha leve</strong><strong>l</strong>. Going to Alpha is also good for programming your mind. At the Alpha level you can learn to overcome all kinds of problems, such as insomnia, tension and migraine headaches, bad habits, and much more. You can also program your mind to help you achieve your goals and make your dreams come true.</p>

<p><strong>Our Thoughts Shape Our Reality.</strong></p>
<p>Take a moment and think about the above statement. Ponder over it and you would realize that it is as real as it gets. Our thoughts shape our reality. What if these thoughts were negative? What reality would we have? Would it be ideal for us?</p>
<p>The reason why this phrase is so important is that <strong>thought precedes manifestation</strong>.  Before you can have what you desire, you must think it.  You must align yourself in a positive position first and you do this through your thoughts.</p>
<p>You can increase awareness in your thought process now by answering the following questions:</p>
<ul>
<li>Are your thoughts your own?  Or do they belong to your peers, family, and friends?</li>
<li>Is your self-talk supportive of your dreams, goals, and desires?</li>
<li>What are some of the beliefs that run your life?</li>
<li>What images are attached to your most persistent thoughts?</li>
</ul>
<p>This is just the tip of the iceberg. I want you to listen to this audio I made a while ago that fully brings out your consciousness to the forefront.  You will become more aware of how your thoughts are actually affecting your life and manifestations.</p>
<p>I want you to analyze your thought process, how does it affect your personality, and why people can instantly pick up on how you think.</p>
<p>Remember, whatever you focus on will <strong>expand in that direction</strong>.  With this audio, you will be able to direct your attention to what you want and get what you want. I will ask you more questions that will bring out your thought awareness and show you how to <strong>refocus your thoughts by changing your speech patterns, choice of words, and visualization</strong>.</p>
